Starling FTW


1000 running units at a steady 30 FPS the Starling engine really made me change my mind about using just plain MovieClips as usual. So now i will rewrite some code to use this awesome engine and take advantage of the GPU rendering.

I like the fact that it uses the familiar flash coding patterns like MovieClips, and such, so is not a lot to be learn before being able to actually use it.

Another advantage it has is that it allows you to use diferent frame rates other than the movie’s main frame rate. Without to mention the particle system it offers.

Anyway, back to coding.
